Charles Evans Boineau papers, 1941-1995 (bulk, 1961-1964)

Papers are arranged in nine series: Campaigns, Correspondence, Invitations, Speeches, Topical Files, Personal, Clippings, Audio-Visual Materials, and Printed Materials. Campaign materials document Boineau's 1961 election victory, and later races; including television scripts and other materials for both Boineau's 1961 contest and the 1962 Senate race by William D. Workman, and Floyd Spence, with campaign advertising materials from the Republican National Committee. Topical files include his proposed amendment to one of the state's election laws, the "Loyalty Oath," and records of Boineau's association with the Republican party at the national, state, and local levels, including his service as a delegate to the 1964 Republican National Convention in San Francisco, where he endorsed the presidential campaign of Arizona senator, Barry Goldwater. Personal series includes files identifying locations of meetings and speaking engagements, as well as records documenting Boineau's military career as a naval aviator during WWII and brief stint in the naval reserves, include his orders, fighter pilot training materials, and separation papers. Clippings recount campaigns and activities of Republican Party at state and national levels; 1962 General Assembly; and news items relating to World War II; printed materials include miscellaneous conservative pamphlets collected by Boineau. Audio Visual Materials consist of photographs, c.1924-1961, and cassette tapes, including [Tom Anderson Speech], 1964; and Printed Materials, 1959-1962 and undated.
